A man who forced his underage son to work at night as a security guard in Bissau has been arrested, a Guinea-Bissau judicial police source told Lusa today.
According to the same source, a man forced a 15-year-old teenager to work as a security guard at a house under construction in a suburb of the Guinean capital at night.
The man was detained for beating the youth after attacking the place where the 15-year-old boy was guarding, the same source explained.
“After the robbery, the father accused his son of stealing and severely beat him, leaving the teenager with scars on his back,” the same source added.
The man will be in court this Wednesday.
In statements made recently during a training course for judicial police officers to assist victims of sexual harassment, abuse and rape, criminal investigation officers acknowledged that such cases, especially rape, have increased in the country.
