The United States Central Command says it carried out an attack in self-defense against six Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles being prepared to be launched at ships in the Red Sea. Al Jazeera.
“U.S. forces have detected cruise missiles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and determined that they pose an immediate threat to U.S. Navy ships and commercial shipping in the region,” X said in a statement.
The Houthis have been attacking ships in the region since November in support of the Palestinian people, demanding that Israel stop bombing the Gaza Strip.
