The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) seized more than ten tons of cod, 235 kilograms of cheese and 612 kilograms of meat products during an inspection operation aimed at combating illegal activities against public health in the municipality of Tondela.
“As a result of the food fraud investigation, it was established that illegal wholesale trade in food products, namely cod and similar products, cheeses and meat products, was carried out in the annex to the house,” the report said. statement released by the department.

During the action, ASAE also discovered that some of the above-mentioned products (about 800 kilograms) were at an advanced stage of ripening and were moldy and had expired. In connection with this, a criminal case was initiated.
