South Korea and US space agency NASA will investigate the causes of air pollution across Asia to develop measures to improve air quality.
The ASIA-AQ mission, a joint study between the South Korean Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) and NASA, will use aircraft, satellites and locations in different parts of the continent. weeks, the South Korean agency Yonhap reported.
“This campaign aims to find the causes of deteriorating air quality on the Korean Peninsula in winter,” Yoo Myung-soo, director general of NIER’s Climate and Air Quality Research Division, said at a press conference at Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek.
