Two police officers and a first responder were shot and killed this Sunday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America, after being called to a domestic violence scene, confirmed the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association cited AP News.
“We are heartbroken. Our law enforcement community is devastated. We are devastated by this terrible loss,” Brian Peters, the association’s executive director, said in a statement.
“These heroes leave behind loved ones and a community that will forever remember their courage and dedication to keeping Minnesotans safe,” he added.
The officers belonged to the Burnsville Police Department.
The executive director of the organization representing rank-and-file officers and leaders of the Burnsville Police Department, Law Enforcement Labor Services, said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the officers and first responders who responded to a domestic call this morning. officers were shot and killed while fulfilling the call of duty to serve and protect. We mourn with the Burnsville community and the families of those killed.”
