The calculations for January are in and, according to Social Media Explorer group Marktest, in the first month of this year the most watched television programs among Portuguese people were four football matches. The match in which Benfica faced Estoril Praia (counting for the League Cup and broadcast by SIC on the 24th) broke a record, attracting almost two million viewers (1.848 million). Just behind the king of sports is “Isto é Gozar com Quem Trabalha” (SIC), with which Ricardo Araújo Pereira in 7th place surpassed a million viewers (1.162 million), but the list also includes “A Máscara” by SIC (1.131 million in first day); TVI’s “Big Brother” (“Desafio Final” on the 21st and “Desafio Final Especial” the next day had 1.093 and 1.107 million viewers respectively); and the inevitable “Right Price” – from 1 RTP (1.1 million on January 17).
In the category of the most viewed proposals for recordings of the same day, the most popular last month was the comedy program of Araújo Pereira (166 thousand people), followed by “Alta Definição” with João Catarre (almost 146 thousand).
Social media accounts are very different. There, Big Brother (TVI) is the most discussed program among Internet users (it had more than 14 thousand mentions), followed by TVI’s Gucha (with 1,472 mentions) and TVI’s Dois à 10. (since 1446). In this list, TVI’s Jornal Nacional news program ranks 9th with 516 comments on social networks.
