The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested two men, a Portuguese and a resident of Sao Tome, this Friday morning in Grandola, on suspicion of drug trafficking.
The Beja GNR military knew that a suspicious vehicle was about to pass through the area and staged a mega operation. During the pursuit, the suspects lost their trail, and the authorities managed to intercept the car in Grandola. The military detained two of the four passengers in the car near the hypermarket. One of the suspects was shot dead.
After this mega-operation between the command of the district of Beja and the district of Setubal, the military seized 33 kg of drugs, 77 thousand euros and a 6.35 mm pistol.
Two of the detainees will be present in court for the application of appropriate coercive measures.
