Former US President Donald Trump on Monday appealed a nearly 420 million euro verdict handed down to him by a New York judge in a case involving misrepresentation of his companies’ assets.
Judge Arthur Engoron of the Manhattan Supreme Court also limited the former president’s ability to do business in New York state for three years after a civil trial that lasted just over two months and ended in January.
Trump’s lawyers, who insist he did nothing wrong, asked the appeals court Monday to overturn Engoron’s conviction and decide whether the judge “made errors of law and/or fact” and abused his discretion and/or or jurisdiction.”
