Angolan parliament wants to ban the mining of cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets, according to a report on proposed legislation that will be voted on by the Angolan National Assembly on Wednesday.
The deputies made amendments to the joint opinion on the proposed law, which was limited to specialty. The title of the proposal now reads: “Proposed Law to Ban the Mining of Cryptocurrencies and Other Virtual Assets,” according to the report, which Lusa had access to.
The document, prepared by Angola’s National Assembly (Parliament) committees on economics and finance, constitutional and legal affairs, defence, security, internal order, ex-combatants and veterans of the country, will be presented to the plenary session on Wednesday, which will have to be approved by law worldwide.
