Mozambique’s National Criminal Investigation Service (Sernik) announced on Tuesday the arrest of a Portuguese national suspected of defrauding more than a dozen Mozambicans who were lured to travel to work in Portugal.
“This person joined two other Mozambican citizens and they in turn attracted some citizens interested in entering the labor market, preferably the international market, which is Portugal,” he explained in statements to journalists, Sernik’s representative in the city Maputo. , Hilario Lole.
The Portuguese man, a consultant and owner of a recruitment company in Maputo for about two years, was found in possession of 13 Mozambican passports, Cernick said.
