The Supreme Court (STJ) warned this Saturday of a “phishing” message that is circulating on electronic platforms that mimics alleged communication and misuses the old official STJ logo.
“The message is false, it is part of a “phishing” campaign and constitutes a security breach for Internet and email users who respond to it. The sole purpose of the message is to commit the crime of illegal access and possible capture of victims. “personal data,” STJ said in a statement.
According to STJ, intrusion involves infection with viruses or malware (malware) or even collection of personal data in response and can occur on any computer system (PC, tablet or mobile phone).
“Recipients of this fraudulent email are advised not to follow any commands suggested in the message, block the sender immediately, report spam, and delete the message. They should not click on the “links” it contains or open any attachments sent from this type of email or make any responses,” says STJ.
Therefore, in line with best practice and in order to avoid becoming a victim of “phishing”, STJ recommends that users of digital platforms never open links or email attachments that appear unknown or suspicious.
He also recalls that by observing the characteristics of a message (appearance, possible spelling errors, persuasive arguments containing generous and unreasonable offers, among others unrealistic), digital users recognize the possibility that the message is false.
“Beware of sensational news and offers that are usually used to attract attention! Do not be guided by a threatening or alarmist tone of the message! If you have not entered contests, it is not normal to receive prizes or products! market! Credible and serious institutions do not use these funds / ways to communicate with your customers, always opting for more direct and personalized communication!”
When in doubt, STJ also advises people to contact the company or institution whose name is being used by phone in advance and pass this warning on to family members, friends and other close people so that they do not become victims. .
