Several dozen people protesting the 2014 disappearance of 43 students from a primary school in the southwestern Mexican city of Ayotzinapa broke down the doors of the presidential palace in the country’s capital on Wednesday.
According to Milenio television footage from Mexico City, protesters were seen using a truck to break down a door before some of those present with their faces covered entered the presidential palace as the president’s routine daily news conference took place. office of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Mexico’s president condemned the “provocation”, which also involved family members of the students, as the election campaign began last Friday to name his successor on June 2.
