A 35-year-old man died this Sunday due to the skidding of the heavy vehicle he was driving on an additional route 1 (IC1) in the Ferraria district, municipality of Urique (Beja), discovered by civil protection and firefighters.
Contacting the Lusa agency, a source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Directorate of Emergency and Civil Defense explained that the accident, which was alerted at 7:28 am, occurred at km 649.5 of IC1.
A source from the Orike Volunteer Fire Department, who also spoke with Lusa, explained that the car was moving in a south-north direction.
The same source added that the driver of the heavy truck was a “35-year-old man” and the inspection took place in the Ferraria area, in the parish of Panoias.

The body of the fatal victim was taken to the forensic department of the José Joaquim Fernandez hospital in Beja, according to the sub-regional civil protection command.
17 operators were mobilized to the scene of the accident, supported by seven vehicles, including firefighters, GNR and the National Institute for Emergency Medical Services, who also deployed the Beja Ambulance and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER).
