The Lisbon City Council (CML) announced this Sunday the extension of the Cold Weather Contingency Plan for the Homeless until Wednesday due to cold weather forecasts in the coming days.
In a statement, the municipality announced that the multi-organization support structure created on January 24 for this plan, which included the existence of seven locations where street tech teams carry out referrals, will remain active. people to the municipal pavilion of Manuel Castel Branco.
These teams are located in Rossio (metro/Praxa Dom Pedro IV entrance), Intendente (Guimarães metro station/shoe shop entrance), Saldanha (metro station entrance next to Novo Banco), Gare do Oriente. (main entrance to this station), Santa Apolonia (main atrium of the CP station), Cais do Sodré (entrance to the river station) and Alcantara (opposite Pingo Doce, on Rua de Cascais).
CML has also indicated that Rossio, Santa Apolónia and Oriente Metropolitano stations will continue to be open to the homeless from 23:00 to 06:30.
According to the statement, hot meals, food and clothing will be served at the Municipal Pavilion of Manuel Castel Branco, where the Integrated Support Device for the Homeless (DIAPSSA) will operate.
