Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters marched at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles this Sunday.
Protesters angry about the conflict between Israel and Hamas shouted and delayed traffic. “Bombs are falling before your eyes,” read one poster.
“The Oscar ceremony is taking place in the street while people are being killed, murdered, bombed,” said 38-year-old Zinab Nasru.
At the awards ceremony, some celebrities, including Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, were seen wearing red badges calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to Reuters.
The Oscars ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA. In the race for the gold statuette, Oppenheimer leads the way with 13 nominations, followed by Poor Creatures with 11, Killers of the Flower Moon with 10 and Barbie with 8 nominations.
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the show for the fourth time.
