The United States of America (USA) will send Ukraine a military aid package worth more than $300 million (about 275 million euros), the government announced on Tuesday. Reuters.
Approximately €275 million comes from savings not included in Pentagon contracts and will be used for artillery ammunition and high mobility missile systems.
“The ammunition will keep Ukrainian weapons firing for some time, but only for a short period,” US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said.
Jake Sullivan also added that the aid does not fully cover “Ukraine’s battlefield needs” and a possible ammunition shortage is at stake.
This is the first security package for Ukraine announced by the Pentagon since December 2023, when it admitted it did not have the funds to continue supplying arms to the country.
