The trial of Fernando Madureira, the head of the Super Dragons fans, and Hugo “Polaco” – in a case in which they are accused of participating in physical altercations with approximately 200 Benfica fans before a roller hockey match with Porto, in Invicta – resumed this Thursday.
At the same time, in addition to clashes with fans of the Eagles club, members of the PSP were also thrown stones by fans of FC Porto. They claim they were also attacked with bottles.
Fernando Madureira denied any involvement in the attacks, despite being identified by one of the victims.

‘This guy is a liar’: Defendant interrupts and attacks PSP agent during court testimony
“Futre,” one of the accused, interrupted the policeman’s testimony several times, insulting and denying him.
“This guy is a liar,” he said.
‘I can’t even go to the stadium because they threaten me’: Police who witnessed the attack say they are being intimidated and harassed
In his statement, the police officer describes the harassment and intimidation he suffered after being attacked by blue and white fans. He says that he could no longer go to the FC Porto stadium because he was afraid of threats, and that he ended up losing a lot of money because he no longer follows the games.
“I can’t even go to the stadium because they threaten me. I have been harmed and am being persecuted,” he says.
Defendants laugh in court after hearing PSP agent describe ‘Super Dragons’ attack
The witness was questioned for more than an hour. In the courtroom, the judge is forced to interrupt the court session several times due to laughter and parallel conversations between the defendants.
When a police officer described the attack by the “Super Dragons” before a Benfica roller hockey match, the accused burst into laughter.
The PSP agent is able to recognize “Macaco” and “Polaco” in the footage presented in court. He says that he knows that an ambush is being prepared, and that despite the fact that the leader of the Super Dragons is covered with a hood, he can positively identify him.
A police officer says he saw “Polaco” throwing stones during protests. The witness’s colleague, who also participated in the police operations, was hit with several objects and even drew blood. This statement again causes laughter in the room.
“Monkey” will not be heard
Fernando Madureira will be present at the hearing, but will not testify.
‘There were clear signs of what was in the making’: police are the first witnesses to be heard
A PSP agent who was patrolling the area on the day of the clashes was the first witness to come forward. The policeman says some aspects of trade secrecy cannot be mentioned, but there were “clear signs” of what was in store.
“We had a briefing. We knew what kind of fans would be there and we knew what we were going for. There were clear signs of what was in the making,” he says.
Police say Fernando Madureira and Carneiro were dressed in black with scarves and hoods to prevent identification.
