The Angolan Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) detained a police officer who, in a public statement, accused senior officers of this body of the Ministry of the Interior of being involved in drug trafficking.
The 33-year-old detainee is a member of the Angolan National Police and has filed charges against the Tem a Palavra program, RTP África and, according to a SIC press release that was provided to Lusa. The SIC emphasizes in a note that due to the “gravity of the facts” it conducted investigations culminating in the discovery and subsequent arrest of a person accused of crimes against the state, its symbols and organs, “confirmed in the oral production of false statements, slanderous statements and slanderous statements to state institutions (the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Research Center)”.
According to the memo, the defendant confessed to the crime, stating that “it was a spontaneous act, only with the intent to denigrate the Angolan state, with an emphasis on the establishment of the SIC, in the alleged involvement of its members in drug trafficking, stimulated judging by the news that follows through social networks, without knowing any of the judges of the Supreme Court, especially high-ranking employees of the SIC, since everything he said was inspired by the statements of other participants in the program and social networks.
The detained citizen, according to the Investigative Committee, will be presented to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Speaking to the press, the defendant said that he was aware that his actions could create problems for him, but substantiated the complaint: “I wanted to express the harshness and sadness that we live in the bosom of a corporation.”
