A 36-year-old athletic woman was attacked by a man who stole her and tried to rape her while she was training. The crime occurred on Tuesday morning on the highway between Albufeira and Vilamoura. Alison Walker herself reported the attack on social networks. “I was running when a man jumped out from behind the bushes, tackled me to the ground and started trying to take my shorts off,” he said.
The athlete, who is originally from Malaysia but lives in the UK, was equipped with a smartwatch that alerted her as soon as Alison hit the ground. At this time, the attacker stole his watch and disappeared.
The victim was left with scratches on his face, arms and legs. Shocked, crying and unable to see because she had lost her contact lenses, she went to two friends who helped her and, after getting her to safety, called the authorities. Vilamoura PNP officers quickly arrived on the scene and, with the help of a sniffer dog, conducted a search in an attempt to find the attacker. Judicial police have also been alerted and are investigating.
