The family of a cancer patient being treated at a Braga hospital donated ten wheelchairs to the local Braga health unit as a token of “thank you for the care provided by the professionals.”
Bruno Gutman, a 43-year-old Portuguese-Brazilian lawyer who has lived in Braga for five years, decided to carry out this gesture of solidarity. “AWe have raised money from friends and relatives, many of whom are in Brazil, to collaborate with the hospital, firstly because patients receive free care, and secondly because we can play an active role in the proper functioning of the institution,” said the lawyer, who is also a lawyer, whose father is under observation in the hospital’s oncology service, quoted in a statement released this Friday morning at the Braga hospital, and claims that this gesture aims to repay “the services that have always been provided family, residents of Braga and all foreigners living in the city.”
Bruno Gutman also called on more businesses in the city of Braga to repeat this gesture of solidarity. “Braga has a huge business community. There are many companies of great value that can be active elements of social responsibility,” he challenged.
The family was received by the Board of Directors of ULS de Braga at the library of the Braga Hospital, who celebrated the generous gesture and emphasized the importance of such actions for the institution.
