A vaccine for the prevention of lung cancer is produced by scientists at the University of Oxford in England. The formula includes technology similar to that used in the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the publication reports. SkyNews, This Friday.
The vaccine will include DNA components that teach the immune system to recognize and destroy cancer cells.
Researchers will produce three thousand doses of the vaccine using funding from cancer-related institutions. The formula will undergo laboratory testing and then begin clinical trials.
If the results are positive, the dose will be tested in patients at high risk of the disease, namely smokers aged 55 to 74 years.
