A 62-year-old man died this Wednesday in a house fire in the town of Ourique, Beja County, which was extinguished by firefighters in the early hours of the morning, Civil Protection and GNR reported.
Speaking to Lusa, a source from the subregional command for emergencies and civil protection of Baixo Alentejo said that the fire alarm was transmitted to firefighters at 01:44, and at 03:46 the fire was considered extinguished.
“As a result of the fire, one person died and the house was destroyed,” the same source said.
A source from the Beja Territorial Command of the NTC, who was also contacted by Lusa, said that the man who died in the fire, who was inside the house, was 62 years old.
The body was taken to the forensic medical examination service of the Beja hospital, the subregional command of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection reported.
The fire, which did not spread to any other house, forced the mobilization of 18 operators, supported by seven fire service vehicles, GNR and the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM), which sent an emergency ambulance to the house. scene of the Life (SIV) of Castro Verde.
