Maynor Suazo, 37, from Honduras, was the second missing victim to be identified. The father of two children, an 18-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl, lived in the United States for 18 years to improve his quality of life.
According to Mexican authorities and the Guatemalan consulate, some of its citizens are missing.
Six construction crews patching holes in the bridge were presumed dead due to the depth of the water and the time that had passed since the accident.
The crew was working in the middle of the bridge when it collapsed, according to Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Brawner Builders.
Two people were rescued alive, while five vehicles were underwater.
Recall that the warning given by the ship’s crew allowed the North American authorities to avoid the death of more people thanks to a quick operation to stop the movement of cars on the bridge.
