The heavy rain that has hit the Lisbon metropolitan area since 13:00 this Thursday has led to the closure of the PSP station in Loures.
The situation repeated itself a little more than six months later. Just like CM As reported at the time, this police establishment was closed for the same reason on October 17 last year.
Our newspaper found that at 1:50 p.m. the rain intensified in Lores and water quickly began pouring into the service area and onto the street.
ABOUT CM had access to photographs and two videos that even show on-duty police officers cleaning up water that fell into the police station.
The order to close police facilities was given by the PSP Loures division commander at around 2:30 p.m. There is no prospect of opening.
This was stated by Andre Antunes, chief of staff to the President of the City Council of Loures, Ricardo Leana. CM that the building in which the PSP police station operates “was subject to renovation about 3 years ago, by the previous head.”
“The current manager is seeking to activate a guarantee for this work, which was clearly carried out with inaccuracies,” he explained.
The same person in charge also added that this Thursday afternoon “a municipal cleaning crew will be at the police station to help with cleaning the premises.”
“Members of the House will be at the police station on Monday to assess the damage so that it can be repaired. There is no date for the opening of the police station yet,” concluded Andre Antunes.
