Angolan President João Lourenço made changes to the composition of the government in the justice and local government portfolios this Wednesday, following changes in two ministries last week, the president announced.
According to a note from the press secretary of the President of the Republic, the head of state dismissed Evaristo José Solano from the post of Minister of Justice, appointing Osvaldo Benz Amaro to this position.
João Lourenço also appointed Fernando Manuel as Secretary of State for Local Government Affairs, replacing Márcio Daniel, who was recently appointed Minister of Tourism.
The President also dismissed Maria de Lima Viegas from the position of Secretary of the President of the Republic for Social Affairs and appointed Marinela Gamboa Laureano in her place.
These changes come after the president last Thursday appointed Marcio Daniel to the post of Minister of Tourism, a newly created ministerial department, after being separated from the portfolio of culture.
Marcio Daniel was Secretary of State for Local Government Affairs.
Angola’s Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday to split the divisions that formed part of the then Ministry of Culture and Tourism, creating two separate ministerial departments.
