The debate on the Government Program has been confirmed this Wednesday for the following 11th and 12th, with a total debate duration of 497 minutes, excluding the opening portion of the Prime Minister’s speech.
The schedule for debate on the government program was announced following the second meeting of the conference of parliamentary leaders of the new legislative body, the first with the participation of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pedro Duarte.
In a conversation with reporters, the representative of the leadership conference, Social Democratic MP Jorge Paulo Oliveira, said that the temporary grid that will be used is “very similar to the one in force in the XV Legislative Assembly.”
“Naturally, it has been adjusted because there is now one more parliamentary group represented in the hemicycle than in the previous legislature, resulting in an increase in total time of approximately 20 minutes. We are talking about a time frame with 497 minutes of debate, without taking into account the time of presentation of the government program,” said Jorge Paulo Oliveira.
The debate on the government program will begin on the 11th at 10:00, last in the afternoon and resume at 15:00. The second and final day of debate, the 12th, will again begin at 10am.
If motions are submitted to reject the government program (an initiative that the PCP has already announced it will accept), they will be subject to an electronic vote by MPs.
