An activated but damaged missile launcher on a Danish Navy ship led to the closure of airspace and sea traffic in Denmark’s Great Belt this Thursday, according to a report from the Danish Armed Forces. Reuters.
According to the same source, the Danish National Maritime Administration has already warned ships not to enter the site, the main maritime access to the Baltic Sea, due to the risk of “falling missile fragments.”
“The problem occurred during a mandatory test during which the missile launcher is activated and cannot be deactivated,” the Army said in a statement.
The Armed Forces further explain that “until the launcher is deactivated, there is a risk that the missile will fire and fly several kilometers away.”
