The new government will meet this Saturday at an informal council of ministers in Óbidos, Leiria district, with all members of the executive branch, following the inauguration on Friday of state secretaries.
This informal meeting of the Council of Ministers in the main hall of the Óbidos City Council, which will begin at 9:30 a.m., will be the first to be attended by secretaries of state from the executive branch, led by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.
In addition to the meeting, a photograph of 59 government officials – the prime minister, 17 ministers and 41 secretaries of state – is also planned in Santa Maria Square.
The first meeting of the government, but only with the prime minister and the ministers who took office last Tuesday, took place the next day, April 3.
The first decision was to “change the official logo used in communication” of the executive branch, a measure that had already drawn criticism, Presidential Minister Antonio Leitan Amaru said. from the opposition on the left, with PS, PCP and BE discounting the urgency of this change.
The minister said that the logo of the XXIV Government again depicts “the armillary sphere with the shield, the corners and the castles in which the Portuguese people see themselves”, in keeping with the commitment made by Luís Montenegro long before the campaign for the March elections. .
The Council of Ministers also decided to continue preparing the program to be presented in Parliament by next Wednesday, the 10th, and to instruct the Minister of Justice to initiate dialogue with all parties, industry agents and civil society for the anti-corruption agenda.
