The United States of America announced this Wednesday that it will send Ukraine a $2 billion military aid package (more than 1,800 billion euros). The announcement comes at a time when the eastern country is under heavy Russian pressure, forcing Ukrainian troops to retreat.
The Americans have announced that among the weapons to be provided are long-range missiles capable of hitting targets over 150 kilometers away. According to Reuters, the missiles Ukraine currently has reach only 80 kilometers.
With this military reinforcement, Ukraine will be able to reach almost all the territory occupied by the Russian armed forces, with the exception of most of the Crimean peninsula.
Advisor to the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak said that negotiations are underway on the supply of long-range missiles, as well as military aircraft.
