The President of the European Parliament (EP) said that this Wednesday “history was made” with the approval of a “robust legislative framework” that represents a “balance between solidarity and responsibility.”
“History has been made. We have succeeded in establishing a strong legislative framework on migration and asylum issues in the European Union. [UE]. It took more than ten years to implement the project, but we kept our word,” Roberta Metsola wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the vote.
From the point of view of the President of the European Parliament, the new Pact on Migration and Asylum represents “a balance between solidarity and responsibility” and is “the European way of doing things”.
