Ash Good, 38, was one of the fatal victims of Saturday’s stabbing at a shopping center near Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, according to Thelegraph. Ash was seriously injured while trying to save her nine-month-old daughter, being stabbed multiple times in the stomach.
The 40-year-old attacker, who was later shot dead by police, first wounded the girl who was in the stroller. To protect her daughter, Ash Good was also stabbed. In desperation, she ran to two male brothers, begged them for help and gave her daughter into their arms. To stop the child’s bleeding, the men took away clothes that were on the store shelves.
“She handed the child to us and said: “Please help, help. She was bleeding from her head, her face… the baby was bleeding,” one of the men told Channel Nine.
Ash Good was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital but died from her injuries.
The baby was operated on in serious condition at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
The attack forced hundreds of people to evacuate from the shopping area and killed at least six people immediately.
CCTV images broadcast by the Australian press showed a man with a large knife in the shopping center at around 4pm local time (7am Lisbon time) and several injured people could be seen on the floor.
