The new Genes album is already available and one of singles It’s “Living Alone”. According to Luis d’Alva Teixeira, the theme is independence. “The title says it all, it’s about facing loneliness and thinking on your own without parents and having fun at the same time.”
Genes will hold two concert presentations of the album. First on February 10th in Lisbon, at the Galeria Zé dos Bois, and on February 11th in Porto, at the Compasso space. “Genes in the studio are the same as on stage. On stage, I am alone with the guitar, but I am supported by a whole wave of sound,” guarantees Luis d’Alva Teixeira, who will have guests such as Filipe Sambado and Rita Borba at the concert.
The digitally edited CD, which the author hopes will be his first vinyl, was accompanied by musicians Lena d’Agua, Luis Severo and Filipe Sambado during the creation. “I moved away from hip-hop a bit and got closer to the idea of Genes, which makes more sense to me. I identify more with this sound, rock, pop and neo-psychedelism,” concludes Luis d’Alva Teixeira.
