Portuguese center Nehemias Queta scored eight points Monday as the Maine Celtics defeated the Oklahoma City Blues 117-100 in the third and final game of the North American Basketball League (NBA) G League finals.
After breaking NBA point records on Friday and Sunday with 16 and 19, respectively, for the Boston Celtics, Nemias returned to the secondary in Portland, Maine, with eight points, seven rebounds and five assists in 19 minutes.
In addition to Nehemias Keta, three more players from the development team’s starting five played for the Boston Celtics in the last games of the regular NBA season – Jordan Walsh (nine points), Drew Peterson (13) and J.D. Davison (22).
Ousmane Dieng, named Finals MVP, was the top scorer in Game 3 with 25 points for the Oklahoma City Blues.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s secondary won its first G League title.
Nehemias Queta, 24, became the first Portuguese to enter the North American Basketball League after being drafted 39th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2021.
The Portuguese player, who left the Sacramento Kings for the Massachusetts team this season, has signed a standard contract with the Boston Celtics and will therefore be eligible to compete in the NBA Playoffs after playing a total of 28 games for the Boston Celtics. this season 2023/24.
Queta finished the NBA regular season with averages of 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 tackles in 11.9 minutes per game.
