A 25-year-old British student was arrested on Monday as he prepared to smuggle 10,000 doses of cocaine in powdered milk cartons from Colombia, reports Mirror.
According to local press reports, the young man had a stopover in the German city of Frankfurt, and his final destination was London.
The case was discovered while boarding a flight at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport when police, in collaboration with immigration officials, discovered four packets of milk powder.
According to the Colombian National Police, the scanner detected “strange elements inside the suitcase,” with only one of the packages actually containing a dairy product.
Agents continued to check the color of the drugs and found 10,000 doses of the controlled substance. The entire process was recorded and the images show the contents of the bags turning blue, confirming the presence of cocaine.
Colombian authorities also say that during the arrest, the young man became nervous and said that drug dealing was a support for his academic studies.
