The President of the Association of Professional Security Guards (APG/GNR) said this Monday that the Minister of the Interior guaranteed the allocation of an addition to the mission, but did not provide any value at the meeting, citing a new meeting on May 2.
“The minister assured that [o suplemento de missão] will be appointed, and that is why we are present at these meetings,” César Nogueira told reporters after a meeting with Interior Minister Margarida Blasco.
The APG President also stressed that Margarida Blasco has committed that members of the Republican National Guard “will not be harmed” or “punished” against the Judicial Police Inspectors.
“They have committed to presenting on the 2nd and we hope that it will indeed be resolved and that no further meetings will be required, despite the fact that a meeting is already scheduled for May 15,” he said.
Explaining that the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) team did not present any value to complement the mission today, Cesar Nogueira said that the MAI will present figures at the May 2 meeting.
“We hope that there will be no need for another meeting after the second one,” he said, stressing that the priority issue for the GNR military is the awarding of an allowance identical to that given by the previous government to PJ inspectors.
The president of the most representative association of the Guard said that GNR soldiers “cannot be treated differently” in relation to PS inspectors.
When asked why the minister did not present any values this Monday, the guard representative replied that the MAI team is still working on values by category and position.
Cesar Nogueira explained that the PPR military is in favor of replacing the current allowance for the security and risk forces, which has a fixed part of 100 euros and a variable part of 20% of the salary, with a mission allowance, which should be 15%. The basic salary provided for the national director of the joint venture is 1026 euros.
In addition to the Association of Professional Security Guards, Margarida Blasko met with the National Association of Sergeants of the Guard (ANSG), the Independent Professional Association of Guard Members (ASPIG), the Autonomous Association of the National Guard (ANAG) and the National Association of Guard Officers. (ANOG).
Following the meeting, the president of the National Association of Guard Officers, a structure that does not belong to the platform that unites the PSP trade unions and the GNR associations, spoke to reporters for the first time and stated that he has a “position equal to other associations and unions.”
“We want to restore all the dignity that was taken from the soldiers of the GNA and to have it restored, and that is why we want the same importance that, rightly, was attributed to the PS,” said Diogo Barreiros.
The minister is currently meeting with PSP unions.
