The National Union of Prison Guards (SNCGP) has been called to a new meeting with the Justice Ministry on May 3 to begin the negotiation process, union leader Frederico Morais said on Wednesday.
According to the SNCGP leader, a meeting with Justice Minister Rita Judice is scheduled for 17:30 on the same day and is on the agenda to “define and establish the methodology and protocol of negotiations”, as well as “statement of assumptions about the scope and object of negotiations.”
In response to Lusa’s question about the expectations for the meeting and the fact that it will take place the day after the date planned for the presentation of the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior (MAI) to the security forces, with whom they protested for the equivalent of an additional mission entrusted to the judicial police, – Frederico Morais was optimistic about getting answers to the prison guards’ intentions.
