The President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoko Embalo, this Thursday made changes to the leadership of the country’s Navy, replacing Vitorino Tegba with Jorge Samba, as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of this military corporation.
The changes were announced in two presidential decrees to which Lusa had access, which indicate that the measures are the result of government proposals after consultation with the Council of Chiefs of General Staff.
In accordance with presidential decrees, Commodore Vitorino Tegba leaves the post of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Navy and is replaced by Captain Jorge Sambu.
The presidential decrees did not mention the reasons for the changes in the composition of the Guinean Navy.
The Chief of Staff of the Guinean Navy is Rear Admiral Helder Nhancha.
