Two Portuguese people, a man and a woman, have died in Teherias, 70km southwest of Caracas, Venezuela, due to heavy rains that have affected the Venezuelan state of Aragua in recent hours, consular sources told Agência Lusa this Sunday.
Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Risk Management and Civil Protection Carlos Pérez Ampueda announced via his Twitter account that “two dead and one missing” are reported in the region at the moment, with the death toll rising due to bad weather. The number has risen to 21 in the past two weeks, according to local officials.
The honorary consul of Portugal in Los Tekes, Pedro Gonçalves, told the Agência Lusa news agency that two Portuguese traders, a man and a woman, were killed by the flood of water and mud.
