A 38-year-old fisherman went missing off Cape Sines (Setúbal) on Saturday as searches continue on land and at sea, a civil protection source told Lusa.
Part of the man’s property has already been found, namely a surfboard, a bag and even a car that was taken away by the authorities.
A source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Office for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense said the alarm was raised at 22:00. The man who lives in Ericeira is said to have been spearfishing when he disappeared.
On the spot, searches are carried out by sea with the support of a ship and a jet ski. Marine police officers patrol on land. An Air Force helicopter joined the search for the fisherman.
On Saturday night, operations were carried out by nine operators using a jet ski, a lifeboat and a Sines firefighters land vehicle.
