Young Israeli tourist Alma Bohadana, 22, died early Monday evening in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, allegedly trying to escape a robbery. The girl jumped from a wall in the Santa Teresa area, in the city center, and fell from a height of at least 15 meters into a forested area.
According to information received so far by the Rio de Janeiro police, Alma and another foreigner accompanying her were walking peacefully along Almirante Alexandrino Street in Santa Teresa shortly before 19:00 local time and 23:00 in Lisbon, when a motorcycle that seemed suspicious of them as she approached them. Terrified of being the victim of a mugging or something worse, Alma jumped over the wall lining the traditional street in her neighborhood, probably not even realizing the height.
She fell in the woods and rocks on one of the approaches to Morro do Corcovado and was seriously injured. A street resident, who had just gotten off the bus on his way home after another day at work and heard calls for help from other people, managed to get to the place where Alma was and tried to keep her conscious until the firefighters arrived, but the young woman did not survive her injuries. injuries
