The Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place this Saturday, has excluded a participant from the Netherlands. Jost Klein, after the “backstage incident”.
The artist, according to Sky News, allegedly verbally threatened a production employee at an event location in Malmo, Sweden, on Thursday evening. He also did not take part in the penultimate rehearsal on Friday.
“We would like to make it clear that, contrary to some media reports and speculation on social media, no other artist or delegation member was involved in this incident,” the organization wrote.
He adds that they have a “zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior” at the event and are “committed to providing a safe and secure work environment for everyone.”
“Joost Klein’s behavior towards a team member is considered a violation of competition rules,” they say.
