Prime Minister of Portugal Luis Montenegro confirmed this Wednesday to the President of Ukraine during a telephone conversation the presence of Portugal at the Peace Summit and assured that he would make every effort to guarantee “maximum international support,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“I am grateful to the Prime Minister of Montenegro for confirming the presence of Portugal and for assuring me that his country will use its contacts to ensure maximum international support for the Peace Summit,” the Ukrainian head of state said in a post on the social network.
According to Zelensky, the summit on the peace formula proposed by Kiev to resolve the conflict with Russia, which will be held on June 15 and 16 in Switzerland, was discussed “in detail” by the two leaders.

Zelensky’s peace formula is based on the assumption that a solution to the current conflict with Russia will arise when Moscow abandons the occupied Ukrainian territories and restores the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Zelensky also said that he informed Montenegro “about the situation on the front line and Russia’s attempts to expand the war.”
“All attention is now focused on our ongoing defense operations and military contacts, which necessitates the postponement of all foreign visits,” he further said.
A spokesman for Ukraine’s president said on Wednesday that Zelensky had canceled all trips abroad in the coming days as Ukraine faces a new Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region.
The announcement came after Spanish authorities earlier announced Zelensky would visit Madrid, and the Portuguese government said a trip to Lisbon was also being prepared.
