The crash that left a man burned to death in Quarteira may have been the result of rivalry between international drug trafficking networks. This is one of the hypotheses being investigated by the Judicial Police (JP), who are making efforts to identify the victim.
The alarm about the incident was received on Tuesday at 1:24 am. A Range Rover SVR V8 with a large engine capacity and loaded with bales of hashish was traveling at high speed when it crashed at the Quarteiro roundabout on the EN125. It collided with a viaduct support and exploded. The driver, a suspected Spanish national, was burned alive, surrounded by bags of hashish. Some of the drugs were taken by suspects with their faces covered, who arrived at the scene in another high-end car and fled.
ABOUT CM discovered that the luxury car contained only the driver’s seat and contained a large quantity of hashish. PJ collected the engine serial number in an attempt to contact the owner.
