A six-year-old boy died this Thursday after falling from the 15th floor of Jacobs House on New City Road in Newham, east London.
Police were called to the incident shortly before 6am. A neighbor who called an ambulance reported that the child’s father was inconsolable and the mother was very upset. “She came running, looked at the child and left, shaking,” he said. Sky News.
“I see this image in my head all the time. It’s so sad, I have a grandson about the same age,” said a visibly moved neighbor.
“I was on the other side of the street where the boy fell. I thought it was someone drunk,” said an eyewitness.
The boy’s aunt told about this. Daily mailthat the child “got up before his parents and fell out of the kitchen window.”
According to Sky NewsThe Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service were at the scene.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services, unfortunately, the child died on the spot. The family is aware and is receiving support,” the official assured.
The death is being treated as unexpected and the investigation is ongoing. There were no arrests.
