One person was killed and more than 30 injured when a Singapore Airlines flight from London made an emergency landing in Bangkok.
The Boeing 777-300ER, bound for Singapore, made an emergency landing at 15:45 local time (9:45 in Portugal) due to severe turbulence. A total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members were on board the plane, the airline said in a statement quoted by the BBC.
“Singapore Airlines expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,” the company said in a statement on social media site X.
Thai authorities sent ambulances and emergency teams to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Video posted on a messaging platform at Suvarnabhumi Airport showed a line of ambulances arriving at the scene.
Singapore Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said the government would provide assistance to passengers and their families.
Images taken inside the plane show chaos after the emergency landing.
