The head of the Socialist list for the presidency of the European Commission said this Thursday that he is ready to work only with democratic political forces and criticized the lack of “red lines” on the part of the European People’s Party (EPP).
“I am ready to work with all democratic forces and do not believe that European reformists and conservatives [ECR] both identity and democracy [ID] democratic, they have a different vision of Europe,” said Nicolas Schmit, “Spitzencandidate” of the European Socialist Party (PES).
During a debate between the five main candidates for the presidency of the community executive, Nicholas Schmit criticized the PPE’s lack of “red lines” and the interference of the far right in countries where it has greater representation.
