G7 ministers meeting in Italy this Saturday agreed to share experiences towards a shared vision of harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and controlling its negative impacts.
“We will share experiences between finance ministries and central banks to develop a shared G7 vision on how to harness the potential of artificial intelligence and manage adverse impacts,” said a joint G7 document cited by Agence. France Presse (AFP).
The G7 also wants to continue discussing the economic potential of AI to “boost productivity and growth.”
According to the same statement, AI can offer new opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of government services.
However, this may also lead to new risks, especially for the labor market.
Thus, the G7 promises to “strengthen the cyber resilience” of the financial sector.
The G7 consists of the USA, Italy, Japan, Canada, Great Britain, France and Germany.
