On Tuesday morning, a young woman, 22, was arrested in Albergaria a Velha after she escaped by car from a NDP patrol in Águeda with her three children, aged up to eight months, four and seven years old. The woman was arrested for driving without a license.
During the chase, which lasted about eight kilometers, the fleeing car collided with a patrol car. However, the driver stopped only when the car in which she was with her younger children swept several hundred meters ahead.
Two soldiers were slightly injured as a result of a collision between a patrol car and a fleeing car. The woman was arrested and taken to the Agueda post. Following these actions, the driver was released and notified to appear before the Águeda court.
The younger children of the young woman were placed in the custody of a family member.
