A flight attendant has received a six-figure settlement after falling on a Thomas Cook Airlines flight during severe turbulence. The woman cannot stand for long and, as a result, can no longer do what she considers “the best job in the world.”
According to police, 31-year-old Eden Garrity broke her fibula in five places, her tibia, foot and ankle. Mirror.
The incident occurred in August 2019 when the plane Eden was traveling on took a 160 km detour to avoid adverse weather conditions. The pilot asked the entire crew to sit down, but the flight attendant had a catering car and she did not have time to do so.
“It made me bitter, I’m offended. It was the best job in the world and I feel like I’ve lost part of my identity,” Eden said, as quoted Mirror.
Following the incident, Eden Garrity underwent surgery to have screws and metal plates implanted in her leg, and within two months he underwent intensive physical therapy because he could not walk.
