The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark are buying 100 Leopard 1-A5 tanks for Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday by the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands, quoted by Reuters.
Military equipment will be purchased from German industry.
The Leopard 1-A5 tanks are an older model than the Leopard 2-A6, but according to Dutch Defense Minister Kasi Ollongen they are still in service.
“They are ready for battle and will definitely be useful to the Ukrainians,” Ollongen said.
This Tuesday is also marked by the announcement that Germany will send 178 tanks of this model to the country invaded by Russia, which is much more than previously announced.
